Hellrunner (Zoids2 version)
I'd wanted one of these guys in some form since first seeing one, but after seeing an MIB one go for a crazy price, I'd given up hope. And then...what was this? A Zoids2 one...on eBay...for an affordable price. Minemine.Hellrunner was one of the first (if not the first, I'm not sure) Zenebas-y wind-ups. Its design still rocks today. It doesn't *need* gimmicks-with just a few simple pieces, it achieves a wonderful sleek look. It's quite expressive for a Zoid with so little articulation-I think it's the head. Whatever it is, I think it looks very raptorlike and intelligent for a model mechanical dinosaur. And it comes with your choice of weapons (beam gun or missile box)...what more do you want?
I do have two gripes...one, that I had to strip some chrome off the inside edges of the body panels to get the legs to move properly (although I wasn't surprised)...and two, the cockpit is grey. Not silvery grey, grey grey. It breaks the incredibly cool chrome silver/black look. Not horribly, but it would have looked a thousand times better black. Maybe I'll paint it...
Oh, for a re-release...Hellrunner would look so much cooler in a pack of its fellows, and I'd love to have a few extra ones to paint. If you can pick one up for a decent price, I'd highly recommend it.
