Lightning Saix (TRU recolor w/CP-16)

I don't know why Hasbro packaged this Saix with a CP-16 when the thing screams "Death Stinger! Use me with Death Stinger!", but hey...it's a gunmetal/grey/yellow Saix and a CP. While overpriced, I got mine at Amazon on sale and with free shipping, so if you can find it cheaper, it's a good deal...and the controller is great if you have Death Stinger. Perhaps they know what they're doing after all-making you buy a Saix to get a CP if you can't import them :p. But I wanted it anyway, so there.

While it looks more black and yellow in pictures, it's not. This Saix is in gunmetal, with some grey underneath the leg and body armor. The trim is dandelion yellow, not lemon, and the eyes remain green. The plastic for the claws not only seemed softer, but the claws were molded with a piece of plastic between their tips, depriving them of their pointyness. I have no idea about the original Hasbro Saix, but my Tomy Japan one certainly didn't have that. I've heard the UK one does, hoever...mold change? Hmm...whatever the reason, they aren't like that any more-I took an xacto knife to them and made them pretty and pointy again.

Gunmetal and grey look nice together, and yellow trim works better than you'd think. It's kind of like the Zaber Fang colors in reverse sans the blue. Very nice...I can't decide if I like it or the original better.

The controller is really easy to "assemble"...you stick caps on, and that's about it. I did manage to put the blue ones on the red caps' side and vise-versa...but hey, it's just caps, does it really matter which side they go on? Shut up, nitpicky side of brain, I'm not switching them. It doesn't do much of anything with the Saix, just lets you switch speeds and stop it. I think the package says you can make it go in reverse, which isn't true. And you have to take off its cool back gun to put the controller on...like I said, it's better off with Death Stinger.
