Sturm Tyrann

No, not Storm Tyrant...unless you want to call Liger Zero Jäger Liger Zero Hunter and so on...

It's Pointy Bunny! Aka one of the only stronger NR Zenebas Zoids...and it's limited. Poor Neo Zenebas. Sturm Tyrann comes in a huge box. When I say huge, I mean almost as big as Death Saurer's huge. This is a *big* box for a rather small Zoid in comparison...and the reason? Lots and lots and lots of pieces.

My solution? Only build the bits that were going to be left on after the Storm Armor was on. Saved me having to pry most of the leg armor and the sides of the face off, too. I did build the pointy blade things, because they're cool-looking in gold. Speaking of colors, Sturm Tyrann is a medium-brick-ish red (somewhere between Storch and Saber Tiger, I'd say) on its tail and flank armor, and the more exterior sort of armor and the head armor is bright red. The black is left alone, as well as having a few black pieces in the armor, and the eyes are left alone too. I was hoping for green eyes since they look so nice with red, but the pinkish-red ones look better than I expected. The claws and such are gold, and the caps are lilac. Yes, lilac. Very much so. Seems as though Sturm Tyrann didn't escape the lavender-ness from Fluffy Bunny after all...

One would think I would learn after assembling Berserk Führer when I was already tired resulting in me being up all night half-awake trimming pieces...nope. Oh well. The whole thing went together pretty well...the tail had the same openy-closey bits needing widening problem as my regular Fluffy Bunny, and the darn front flank armor wouldn't go on until I filed down the peg thing it uses, which of course made it loose...and one of the top leg armor bits likes to come loose too. They both pop back into place anyway...

Sturm Tyrann is an impressive critter once finally complete...it looks very sleek and dangerous, like its regular non CP-27-ish cousin, but...faster, what with the big huge boosters :p. I have to say that for the regular Zoid I actually like the lavender better-more contrast. But with CP-27 and all that red, Sturm Tyrann looks very much like it's some evolution or relative of a Geno Breaker, which is cool in its own way. I didn't like the face armor in pictures, but in person it looks nice, like it's built for slicing through the air at the insane speed of 450 kph. Fly, dino, flyyyy! The claws are neat, but they look like they're putting a good amount of weight on the front legs, which worries me a bit. And I wish they didn't use the arms the pointy-claws go on, since if they didn't, I could stick them on Shadow Fox. I still want to find some other way to do that, though, as the gold would match nicely.

Update...the plastic thing that holds one of the big boosters on has gotten cracked, which apparently has happened to other CP-27-ified critters. The booster still stays up if posed correctly, but it's annoying. Oh well...
