Double Sworder (old review)

New review

Beetles with pincers are neat...dragonflies are still my favorite insect-y thing, but there aren't any dragonfly Zoids other than that one Command Zoid. There should be...maybe one with translucent and/or shiny wings. But anyway...Double Sworder looked like a different sort of Zoid to me-after all, it's a bug, and they have six legs and stuff.

Double Sworder's a nice bright shade of blue, with translucent orange bits for the wings. These are like Holo Kitty in that they're slightly less translucent than the normal cockpit but more bendy/sturdy. Be really careful with the little grey guns-both of mine cracked a bit when I was taking them off the sprue, and I was being careful, blast it.

Compared to two and four-legged Zoids, Double Sworder has a rather unusual motor and construction. The motor has sticky-outy bits that you put the legs on, so they actually do swivel and skitter around like a real bug's...well, two pairs of them do. The back wings were a bit annoying to get on, mainly because I kept knocking the pincers off while doing so, and then the wings would escape while I was getting the pincers back on...other than that and the guns (muttermumblegripecomplain), nothing was all that tricky, just different.

When wound up, Double Sworder skitters rather like a bug, albeit slowly, and the pincers move a bit. The wing covers can be lifted or folded, and the wings can be folded/unfolded too. The whole thing makes for a very beetle-ish look...okay, so you can see where the motor is, but it's pretty good for a wind-up robotic bug :p.
