Cosmozoid!
aka Pegasuros, but mine's a UK release and "Cosmozoid" is more fun to say.Cosmozoid is a step up from everyone's favorite suicide duck, Glidoler/Terrared - the Blade Liger to its Shield, if you will - using the same motor, body, and wings but not much else. While Cosmozoid loses Glidoler's charming (and rather silly) duckwalk, it keeps the wheel concept and gains a long neck and bigger, flappier wings. Stats-wise, this makes for a much higher max speed...Mach 3.4 in a pinch. Zip!
What's amazing is how this is accomplished: two frames of parts, a motor (one loose gear included with it), and a head. That's it. Two little frames of parts, at that, and this guy's pretty decent-sized for his time. He's small now, sure, but remember this was the age when Big Stompy Doom was Bigasaur and Mammoth. Ligers? Hah! Sabre Tiger, the original pointed cat, was still years away.
The wings are the coolest part of the upgrade, though: Glidoler has short stubby ones, so what's the best way to get longer wings for our Cosmozoid friend? Mold new...wait, clip longer ones on? That's right, there's no bits left over - no missile pods, tail, shield flap, and guns. Not here. Instead you get this cool layered effect and wings that still flap quite nicely. And they have shiny stickers. You have to love the shiny stickers. I hate stickers and I used them!
In motion, Cosmozoid rolls merrily along, wings flapping. It doesn't chomp its jaws because it has none. There's not much else to say, other than it looks darn silly trying to scoot along on my keyboard.
If you like old windups, you need one of these. You have no excuse.
