Whitz Tiger Imitate, aka "Cheese Whitz"

(In Wolf mode only, so nyah)

I was always a bit iffy on Whitz Wolf, not able to decide if I liked it or not. But then there was the Imitate, getting my attention with the blinding Tigers yellow on its box. This turned out to be orange...it was a cheese Zoid, and a very pricey cheese Zoid at that. They sold for crazy amounts, until a another much larger run hit the market in a flurry of cheddar. I got one post-haste and extra-cheap thanks to a contact. He knows who he is.

The colors are nothing like the box, as I mentioned. Much as I love Tigers yellow, this works better for the Wolf. There's the warm cheese-ish orangeyellow (not blinding, but bright), brown, grey, and silver. They're all warm shades, which work wonderfully with each other and the red caps. It's a very unique combination and I really, really like it.

I decided to keep the two Zoids separate once I saw the Wolf's head and how much better it looks in person. Construction was simple enough, but still involving, especially considering the one-piece legs. It was quite fun, actually, even though it's a bit low on mechanical stuff. I also decided the Wolf's regular paws were way too small and the tiger ones looked downright silly on its shoulders. Thus, a compromise-I stuck them on the Wolf's feet, and decided it's got big paws like a puppy instead of ballet slippers. They've stayed there since.

Together, Whitz is bigger than you might expect. It's closer to König than Command Wolf, and carries a decent bulk. It's not a large Zoid, but it's not grade-up small. Despite that, that's what it reminds me of the most, with the spinny port (unfortuneately not grade-up compatible) and the one-piece legs with relatively static body. If only you got to build the motor too, eh? Oddly enough, the tail is wonderfully flexible in contrast. It can swish like Rayse's and move up and down a good deal more, so even witht the rest of it stiff, Whitz can manage some expression.

Savinga is okay. It's not super-poseable for a Blox, but it's CUTE, dangit, and it's something different. The Tiger bits hide on it pretty well, though there are some that are visible. I'd say they did a good job of it, espceially with how you can cobble together a Nudist Savinga with the leftover bits after the fusion. The only real problem is you're left with one or the other of the squirrel heads staring you, all creepy and disembodied. The cute one is fun to stick on Seismo, though. I'll ramble about it more if/when I get a regular Savinga review done, but suffice it to say, it's a cute squirrel and a nice bonus to get with the cheeseWolf.

When I tried fusing the two for the Tiger (more on it in the white one's review) I was rather surprised how much I liked the Wolf. I put Savigna back together right away, though I stole the smaller piece that goes on its back for Whitz' neck to cover up that strange hole-y empty bit...Whitz Wolf looks better for it, and Savinga doesn't miss it much.

Really, I was very pleasantly surprised by Whitz Wolf overall. It's one of my favorite new designs, and likely my favorite motorized canine in construction. Nothing beats Command Wolf and König has those pretty angles, but man, is this thing cool. Movey guns, big feet, cool tail...there's just something about it I love.

Get one of these puppies if you haven't already. Even if you don't like canine Zoids, give Whitz a chance. It comes in three colors, and one's bound to suit you.
