Bear Fighter (old review)

New review

This, folks, is an example of why not to wait forever to write reviews. I've forgotten much of what I could have said...I mean, I bought this thing back when my Wal-Mart had lots of Zoids, and they haven't had any since it was SNOWING out...and it's September now! Bad Tilly!

Anyway. Bear Fighter is one of those cases the fandom tends to forget about where Hasbro did right-releasing a hard-to-find Zoid in non-limited form without changing it any (like they did the red Blade Liger). And quite a nice Zoids it is, too. Bear Fighter's in rather drab but good military-looking colors, and as far as I know is the same as the Japanese version other than the box.

I can't remember much about building Bear Fighter other than I was watching TV...and that some of the plastic was a bit tricky to trim. It is a rather unique build...not so much in structure but in overall Zoid-ness. There aren't any Zoids like it that I've assembled. It follows the four-legged Zoid pattern, to be sure...but how many four-legged Zoids also can walk on two legs and shift in such a nifty way? Okay, Gungy can do that too...but unless someone wants to send me one I'm not exactly able to compare.

Bear Fighter's two walks both work well, by the way, although I prefer the four-legged one. It looks good still in either.

While many people forget it exists, Bear Fighter is a worthy and rather unique Zoid, and if you can hunt down one of the Hasbro ones, it's well worth getting.
