Mountain Asp, Land of the Empire Army has been declared as the racing circuit for the Empire X-Day to look for the fastest Empire Zoid.

Captain Swanson brought his Gremlin to a shuddering halt, sending up a swirl of dust that spiraled slowly into the air. God, it was hot in the summer. From the cockpit, he saw other pilots and their zoids waiting for the race to start - all eyeing to win the race.

The Emperor's message still echoed repeatedly in his ears – we are looking for the fastest empire zoid to launch an offensive against the Republic Army and the champion pilot of the race will get to lead an army of Raptors!

His thoughts suddenly disrupted by the loudhailer from a distance: "Pilots to your starting line. The race is about to start in 10"

The Captain took a look at Gremlin, "You’re a real piece of work, you know that? Let's blaze the rest with your extra boosters that we salvaged from the Commandwolf!"

Story:

On Zoidstar, the Heroic Combat could take different face. One of this aspect was a race, between several Zoidaryans piloting theirs Zoids, a race where the winner was not only the one to arrive first, but also the one to arrive alive. During this race, you could do nearly everything, attacking your opponents while running, push them out of the track, and so.

Those races were occuring outside, inside a perimeter that was for example running from a point to another by going through montains, or things like that. The Power Zoids became very quick the best Zoids to choose for those races, very fast, with good weapons, the other Zoids weren't able to stand against them in a race.

So evolutions of those Power Zoids appeared, Armored Tank was one of those evolutions. Made to be faster than Tank, with his rear thrusher, he was also gaining firepower, with guns nearly everywhere pointing in front of him. All was created in him to go the fastest possible, and to destroy everything that could stand before him.

Story:

Betsy wanted to compete in Zoids battles despite her father's wishes. They used to enjoy this until her brother's accident, and now they are no longer able to compete. This doesn't prevent her from modifying her own helcat for other purposes. Scavenging parts, she was able to get some LZ parts from a recent battle when a red LZ replaced the CAS to the LZX armor. She always wanted her cat to have the ability to strike with lazer claws, so she made her own modification. The biggest gain was in speed. An LZ booster designed for a large zoid, just shoots her tiny Helcat off like a rocket.

On her father's deathbed, he made her promise never to fight in a zoid battle, until she hear the announcement. A race was to be held. This is not just a race to see who is the fastest, but one that presents several challenges. This way, a pilots skill would be seen and not just a zoids speed. There would be a track portion that includes jumping through hoops as well as executing sharp turns. Next is target shooting to see who can hit small items while moving at a fast speed. A mountain run segment would see who can climb to the top while tagging (claw or bite) markers along the way. Finally, a "Death Star" canyon run. This is where a zoid goes through a zigzaging maze while avoiding paintball guns (seconds are deducted for each hit) and finally shooting down an end target.

The preliminaries were done to determine the final top three contestants to do the canyon run. The competition was going well for Betsy. The real challenge came from an LZ equipped with a mix match of CAS. This LZ had all the boosters added, and all weaponry removed except for the tail that had the missiles loaded. The other competitor was a Lightning Saix that included a CP-11 for boosters without the wings. All three were set down in the canyon, and they started at the same time. This worked to Betsy's advantage as she had the smallest of the zoids, and was easily dodging the guns as they sped off to the target. Even though she didn't finish first, she did come off without being hit, while the rest had several marks on their zoids.

She was dubbed the ultimate winner, and was the champion for several years afterwards. For this historic effort, she renamed her zoid Bobcat, in honor of her late brother Robert.

Story:

Filibuster "Flip" Izhmo, was born in the Northern plains to a family of runnerbeast breeders. He spent his days caring for his family's herd in thier wide pasture...

Days were slow for Flip, his only real source of amusement was racing his stallion Nolime against cargo trucks and heavy freighters that used the stretch of North Boll highway that ran along the edge of thier land.. During one of these impromptu drag racers he caught the eye of the manager for the upcoming ZiRacing team, BlueThunder...His free attitude and fast reflexes deeply impressed the manager, Metanh Gerre, and he was recruited on-spot.. Eager to experience more to his boring routine of life, he readily jumped on the deal..

Once in the BlueThunder Headquarters he was tested and assesed by the team's sientists and researchers, and Flip did'nt dissapoint them.. His reflexes were in the A- category, his eyesight 20-20, his synchronization was at his first time in a zoid already at an unbelivable 80%.. After all the tests and retests he was then given a pick of the available zoids in the hanger.. Flip was drawn to a highly customized helcat, with special armor and pods on the shoulders and back..and so he was given possesion of the Pfeilcat..

the Pfielcat had 3x magnesar thrusters, with 3x ion boosters bult into the thrust units.. it was also equipped with 5 magnesar induction stabilizers that created downforce by chanelling magnesar energy to draw the zoid to the ground. they also aid in steering the zoid during highspeed manuevers by altering the magnessar flow around the zoid. The stabilizers are located as follows: 1 on the head, 1 on the back, 2 on the rear legs 1 on the tail. Its weight was less than that of a standard helcat, with its original armor stripped and replaced with FiberAlloy for weight reduction and strength..

After 2 months of rigorous training, Flip was finally ready to enter the ZiRacing ciruit.. He was assigned by the BlueThunders as thier representative for cross-country races, where he himself can enjoy the open ranges and the endless sky..

Zoid Bio:

The pet project of the Taylor family, the Hello! Fuhrer's appearance was designed primarily by their eleven-year old daughter, Stephanie. Equipped with the best technology available to keep young Stephanie safe, the Hello! Fuhrer is much faster than a standard Fuhrer, approaching the top speeds of an Energy Liger. The Happy Sunshine Sparkle Flowers are the main reason; they utilize a special particle charging technology, but, instead of converting the ions into a deadly stream, the ions are diverted back, into thrusters, discharged in a golden static-like flare, hence the name. The rest of the thrust is generated from the boosters on the legs, and the booster pack.

The design is only a prototype, and this race will be the unveiling, with Stephanie as the pilot. It utilizes a mind-link, connecting the pilot to the Zoid, enabling quicker reflexes. All Stephanie must do is keep her mind on the race, and she can outmaneuver most other racers with ease.

Concept idea:

I got the idea of makin this from my favorite Final Fantasy game, it was based to a final fantasy 12 chocobo it has a mild cuteness & a bit added aggressive look to its face compare to other final fantasy chocobo's that only looks cute & harmless...

A Chocobo is a large, often flightless bird capable of carrying a human. Their specific abilities vary somewhat from game to game. Most dwell in forests. While timid in the wild, and vicious if threatened, chocobo's are noted for their high speeds. Wild Chocobos can be captured and ridden and used as a form of transport but some are use in racing, the species is a versatile and useful bird.....

From that day, and with the strength of Anansi's Chariot supporting us, our tribe has governed this area with peaceful fairness. But it is told that one day there will come a man who will outrace Anansi's Chariot and prove more worthy that us to rule, so every generation we hold the race. Any person who wishes may enter, and run or ride against Anansi's Chariot from the Anansi's Kiss plateau to Kojo village.

"The race is tomorrow, and it is my turn to pilot Anansi's Chariot. The years have not been kind, and she is in dire need to repair that we simply cannot fathom. Only four of her legs remain, and where she used to dance, she now staggers like an old man. If I lose the race, our tribe will be dispersed, and I will take Anansi's Chariot away. Perhaps I will take her back home, to the stars."

The original spiderzoid mechanism is still present, but I've gutted the coilspring and replaced it with an electric driveshaft. Steering is via an unbalanced weight just to the rear of the legs - when it spins, it exerts a little bit of torque around the model's centre of gravity - just enough to turn the zoid because the feet are very low friction.

It doesn't actually work all that well - when I failed to notice some paint on moving parts before the first test, I think I stripped the gears a little bit. With a bit of CRC I'm hoping I can coax it back to the point it was before painting, where it would dance forwards and backwards like a cockroach, turning left and right. *Right now*, it's super accurate to the story :P

Setting:

After the Great War is over in the Western Continent, many mercenarys had return to their home and doing whatever they can do. One mercenary call Zero has become a junk dealer and retreads the damaged Zoids from the old battle field or destroyed base. Once a time, he met a Stealth Viper in a destroyed hangar that the cockpit was seriously damage. However, the Zoids core is still alive and the main body is not much damage. After he retread the damage Stealth Viper, he and 2 of his friend decide to repair it and upgrade it to be a racing machine.

After the repair, the machine became something totally different than any Stealth Viper. Since they install a magnetic system in the body, not only able to run faster, but also able to climbing cliff and dive under water. However, it also takes more energy they expect and the control system is too difficult for 1 person. Then they put on 2 energy tanks with booster, so not just fix the energy problem but also increase the max speed to 350km/h. They also, change the cockpit for 2 person use, so there has a pilot to control the magnetic system and other things while other one is driving the Zoids.

Now, Zero's daughter Hinagiku and her childhood friend Flame pilot the Zoids and challenge the Zoids race with all purpose Tornado Viper and their trust. Will they stand a change to against all the top racers around the planet Zi?

"Smythe arms needs to diversify. Specificly our publicity department needs to diversify. Rainbow, I'm talking to you!"

The blonde 20 something snapping her gum at the end of the table looked up. "Yes Grandma?"

"The novelty value of pink zoids getting the crap blown out of them has worn a little thin Rainbow, so I've decided we're diversifying!"

"But grannma, we won that competition for ad copy.."

The wrinkly old woman cut her off with a glare. "Yes. And it was the steel black and red zoid that won it"

The pink clad young woman couldn't argue with that, and wisely chose to say nothing.

"I've spoken to your girlfriend. She has almost finished your new ride. You're going to be entering... a drag race."

"But gran.. I don't wanna dress in drag!" She glanced down embarrassed at her flat chest. "It's not like its hard or anything"

"On you, who'd notice?" muttered the matronly lady before explaining. "NO. Going very fast in a straight line. Leanne has modified a sinker for your use, and your father insisted on painting it. Morris, of course will be in the number two sinker once it's finished (at this the man clad in sensible clothing in the other seat winced), although I think in this circumstance you can beat him hands down. Going suicidally fast in a straight line should be relevant to your interests."

Rainbow Smythe-Jones considered this for a moment. Then she stood and walked around the boardroom table.

"Thanks granna" She hugged the old woman tight.

Zoid info:

The zoid was inspired by my partner suggesting that I put Kong CP-11 boosters on a sinker. I wanted to create a sinker reminiscent of a funny car or a top fuel dragster. I also wanted it to move and light up. I started by completely gutting a sinker. The motor came from a Dimenetra petra, the gearing from a hound soldier, and the wheels axel and bearings from a crush gear turbo. Unfortunately when trying to align the motor I put a bit to much power through it and stripped the gears. As the axel was impossible to remove (thanks lok-tite) I doubled up on the lights instead, installing four 6500 microcandella Orange LEDS.

Story:

Description: The Hammer Strike is based upon the EZ-056 Hammer Rock, as the Gorilla Type design offers both agility and speed. At first glance they appear very similar but the internal systems have been totally re-engineered.

The internal frame is Zitanium to handle high g-forces and the outer shell is made of ultra light carbonfibre polymer that is only 2mm thick. Various sections are unpainted to save weight. Overall, despite the heavier power core and other modifications, the Hammer Strike weight 12 tonnes less than the standard Hammer Rock (26.8 tonnes).

The main joints have all been replaced with modified Blox technology for improved strength, speed and dexterity. This also allows damaged limbs to be quickly replaced when racing.

Performance details are highly classified. The unique dual Zoid cores generate so much heat that four exhaust vents are required. Even without the Booster System, the Hammer Strike can reach over 350 km/h over flat terrain.

The XS:12 Booster System is an experimental upgrade of the CP-12. It requires a vast amount of power, so when racing it is only used for short bursts of extreme acceleration. The low weight of the Zoid means the boosted Hammer Strike can briefly break the sound barrier, accompanied by a deafening sonic boom. There are no flight controls, so the Hammer Strike cannot manoeuvre in the air. Instead it leaps, using its powerful limbs to cushion the landing and change direction. Each booster has an emergency overheating vent, but a "flaw" in the coolant system means fluid can leak onto the boosters, resulting in an impenetrable cloud of smoke trailing over any following Zoids.

As a racer, the Hammer Strike does not include any overtly offensive weapons. The Dubble Bubble Rifle is mounted on the right arm, firing basketball sized paintballs guided by the head mounted Odin targeting system. This includes laser, radar, sonar, night-vision and infra-red sensors. The Gorilla Type design offers far more stability than a bipedal Zoid, providing incredible accuracy over any distance. Complaints that the sonar system emits a signal which disorientates other pilots have not been confirmed.

The left arm mounts the Hell Strike Weapon Array: four separate emitters, each comprised of a liquid nitrogen discharger and a plasma burst torch. Though the range is only 10m the temperature stress can shatter boulders or even 20cm hardened steel plating.

Trivia: St.Croix's hair is naturally purple, though the silver streak is bleached. The Hammer Strike is actually painted to match St.Croix not the other way round.

History: Konner is the son of industrialist Mikhail St.Croix, owner of the Iron Heart Mining Corporation. The family fortune was made when they discovered the only known vein of Zitanium, an incredibly strong but light metal. Zitanium is not as strong as Zi metal, but is more widely available and used in top spec industrial machinery and Zoids.

Konner became fascinated by Zoid Racing at the early age of 7. During a kidnap attempt, Konner's bodyguard commandeered a Sinker Zoid. He evaded the kidnappers for over an hour, pursued though city streets, winding canyons and dense forest, before safely delivering the young St.Croix to the family home.

Since then, he has dedicated his considerable free-time and resources to developing Zoids for Off-road Rally Racing. He has honed his skills racing through the planet's most extreme terrain and weather conditions. "Any idiot can go in a straight line, just fire him from a cannon."

Since his father's retirement, Konner manages the day to day running of the Corporation with his older sister, Emelissa and is known to be as ruthless and determined in the boardroom as he is in the cockpit.
