Current collection of things not-Zoid: One platinum "Alpha Dog of War" trophy. Seasons Beatings Santa Hat. Dead magical rent-a-ZX slip (never used, still in wallet). Wthingy the Shadow Fox's core IN A BOX (and currently seeking enlightenment). Several ballpoint pens. One Deadborder slipper (which squeaks), the other lost. Frequent Zaber Fang Repairs Club punchcard, five out of twelve boxes punched (despite never owning a Tiger). Magic Bree-granted One-Battul Gilvader Slip, "VOID" stamped on in red ink. The other front claw of the Deathdog Death Saurer Hellhound. Three-shot organoid slip ("no moar uses left" scribbled on with a ballpoint pen). The two small saws off Neverender's back (with Storch bits stuck in). 4th Year Neverender Stomp shirt.
Current number of interesting injuries: One concussion/whiplash combination (Spin, Crystal Saurer, spin!), becoming temporarily radioactive - twice (Don blew up a judge, Geno Saurer hit a Nukepod judge), concussion/whiplash from a flying exploding Leo Striker incident.
Shineryuu started as a spoof Mary Sue (oh man, semi-crappy old 2003 writing!) that demanded character development and a proper place to grow. (This is proof I can't control my own characters.) For those who don't want to slog through the fic, she was a take on the typical newcomer that shows up, kicks ass, joins team Blitz, and saves the day along with her organoid and doomZoid. This was all typical for the day: remember, 2003 was still an era of /Zero, Bit/Leena, and CC/GF as exciting and new.
So I revised her for MMM a bit. I kept the silly tone, the tragedy, the being far too good at something...and attempted to build a semi-serious silly sort of base this time. The lines about her eye and hair were directly lifted from Brad's flowery description of her (good Mary Sues, after all, include love interests in their warping of the universe around them), the rest was original. I rather like the speed knitting and should find a way to use it in RP.
Her name is a takeoff on the "stick cool words together" style of Japanese used by fanboys, which is rather like Engrish but usually a lot less funny. It's not a misspelling of shin, but is 死ね shine (command form of "to die") combined with 龍 ryuu (dragon) in a completely nonsensical way in the true tradition of kanji stuck on many products here. It makes me feel vaguely hypocritical at times and people often misspell it. The solution? Just call her "Shiney" or "Shiny Dragon" :D. (Or you can call her Tilly and confuse her.)
Many of her earlier wins seemed to be dumb luck, and a run of her smaller Zoids getting squished left her wondering about her abilities...and about teamwork maybe being a nice idea after all. A couple things sealed the deal: first was winning a Gorhecks in the slightly out-of-continuity world of Season's Beatings (her memory's still a bit hazy - she recalls a Slash Liger turning into a Demantis, and that can't be right), second was the first Scuicide Stomp (an example of teamwork at its best and most loony). Faced with fighting lots of battles to keep her prize Zoid long-term, she ended up meeting more pilots, getting rather attached to the Gorhecks...and eventually joining a team.
Or rather - she thought it looked interesting, was thinking on the idea...and Bitey dragged her to the Celestial Phoenix base, which was on an island. Gorheckses are not very good swimmers.
He sarcastic side tapered off some from there, and gained a more friendly edge - she'd rather snark with you, not at you. Melodrama is still met with the ridiculous or flippant, and Leomasters and Slash Ligers with horrible jokes...which fit in fine with the rest of Phoenix, who saw her through much of her early days and worsened a perverted sense of humor while bettering her skills as a pilot. Fusing that Leostriker dodgy places? Their idea, she swears.
Bitey continued to bring strange luck: this time around it was the lunacy that was the Megastomp event. Fling your Zoid into battle against things overpowered and customized, fight alongside four random others...Shiney didn't just plunge Bitey into doom this time, she was there watching as friends did the same with their Zoids, cheering them on. Nothing that unusual, right, except for the part with her winning a Geno Breaker. A serious Geno Breaker, one with a level head compared to her other Zoids.
She named it Klippy, much to its dismay.
At the moment, Shineryuu is being forked into things serious and not Zoid-related. In orange shoes.
Further ahead in continuity (because RPGs are like that), she's joined up with Sophie and other buddies to start a team. Said team has recently acquired a hot pink Geno Breaker, which got dubbed Heart in one of the same meetings responsible for an Aro Saurer named "CAPTAIN PLANET".
Still further ahead? Tornament time, and Mayhem taking second place in the Team Elimination Round Robin, both to be more integrated here when RP things happen.
Danny's name is the obligatory music reference - we're talking Chicago's old drummer, dangit. The "Lord of..." title was applied by Bree.
Before belonging to Shineryuu's parents, Danny was one of the village Zoids, no doubt left over from the war or abandoned by an ex-pilot. Thanks to the various incidents in Shiney's childhood, he distrusts both tea and mechanics who don't read instruction manuals. He's otherwise quietly friendly, and communicates more in canine ways and less with the actual speech-sounds pilots seem to understand. Some of this may just be that he prefers to keep his thoughts to himself, some of it may be a more simple AI.
Shineryuu doesn't care that Danny was (indirectly) responsible for her parents exploding and many things catching fire - if anything, she's attached to the Wolf as a reminder of fun times and as her first Zoid. Danny remembers better, though, and having his first pilot crisp in his head combined with many tales of past battling Command Wolves was enough to give him a pessimistic outlook on battle. He's always expecting the worst while trying his hardest to not have it happen - that way he'll be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't. To say he knows no fear would be wrong, it's more that he's stopped caring about being afraid.
His best friend/rival/lover is Floyd, Sophie's Whitz Wolf - they have fought twice, both battles ending in a draw. And snuggling. (You Bastard also accidentally shot Floyd in the ass once, but there seems to be little ill will over this incident.)

Klippy is aggressive in a fight as Breakers were bred to be Liger killers, not aggressive in the feral EAT YOUR FACE way many assume. Humans are so very strange reading into this, but they've always been and will always be that way, and they will keep bringing him things to smash into other things. So be it, it can be interesting.
Being a tourney prize, he's recently evolved, no doubt by some ZBC organoid of unknown breeding. The Geno Saurer base was leftover old military stock, giving him an interesting mix of curiosity and grouchy, stoic acceptance. He knows his place, and is quite content serving as a guardian on the Mayhem base, even if he doesn't trust his partner. Besides pointed cats, he has little love for for willful stupidity or undirected rage and angst. We've all met those Zoids.
On the other hand, Klippy likes being scratched under the chin, and is fond enough of Leo Strikers. (Rosa, on the other hand, is a bit cross with him, even if that IS a useful place to stick a tailblade and boosters.)

I'd long said I'd name a Gorhecks something involving heavy metal umlauts- the "bitey" is a result of the Season's Beatings chat:
(2:31:59 AM) Tilly: *sits and pokes the Gorhecks*
(2:32:12 AM) OzymandiusJones: Gorhecks: *nips*
(2:32:26 AM) Tilly: Ow, how can you bite with no teeth!?
(2:32:33 AM) Thaurthon: Anyway! With the breadwinners and likely prizes announced, I hereby declare the seasons beatings tournament to be over
(2:32:42 AM) mute ragnarok: yes sir D:
(2:32:49 AM) Thaurthon: A bunch of mod slips and such will be likley handed out once I fully announce prizes
(2:33:16 AM) Tilly: Should I wait to add biteyhecks until then?
(2:33:35 AM) Sodomu No Yami: biteyhecks XD
Bitey wants to be your friend. She'll shoot the crap out of you if you're her opponent, but there's no hard feelings involved (she doesn't have the brains to bear a grudge). Her most common frame of mind is hyperactive, friendly dog - think boxers or labradors - and she thus tends to wear a continual :D expression despite having no eyes or mouth. :3 is also acceptable if she's a bit cranky. She is completely clueless about perverted jokes and the many other intricacies of squishy humans and their relationships, which is probably a good thing hanging around the pilots she does.
She also seems to have crazy luck. Don't ask me how, don't ask me why, but don't ignore the Gorhecks.

Superweapons faced down (7): Tachyon Strike (miss), Immolator CPC (hit), Ballistic Missile x4 (miss, hit, miss-with-scorching, OH GOD DON'T FIRE THAT IN HERE), exploding judge capsule (everybody dies)
Number of times sent flying by explosions: Sadly, only one.
Kirk was so named because I am a dork, and I first used him in a Kingbaron versus Slash Liger UO. No more needs to be said. Besides, Barons are blingy and old-school and heroic. Girls dig that.
Kirk is predictably stubborn and ferociously loyal - and more fond of melee than most gunkitties, because it's much more fun to slug it out with the Zoid you're shooting. Genothingies make him overuse ellipses, and he and Klippy have a bit of a strained relationship, helped a little by Barons being of a different era than the Geno family. On the other hand, he's fast friends with Johnny the exploding masochistic Houndsoldier, no doubt due to Johnny's redshirt tendancies...and he'd love to get to know many, many other Zoids better. Especially the girl ones (other than Bitey, Funky says she's got SPINES). Really, you expect anything else?

You Bastard is a double obscure reference. One's Pratchett, the other a reference to a favored bit of battlestory fanon - cookie if you spot it :3.
He needs more of a bio here.
Music likes: W.A.S.P's The Crimson Idol (by random association)
The result of this obscure reference? A polite yet stubborn Zoid more than willing to sling herself into doom for the sake of a buddy, be it one she fused to or one she's fighting with. Fittingly, this has resulted in suicide runs and hospital time. She hangs out in the Mayhem bases' trees with many of the other Blox, getting a sort of quiet revenge on Klippy by using him as a perch at night.
Injured teammates may find themselves visited by a surprise (and unmanned) Leostriker, though she doesn't bring flowers or stick her head in the window after the Megastomp nurses apparently threw things at her nose.
Think Battle Rover colors: translucent-seeming bluepurple over silver and black.

Ozy, David Pride, and Zinou let me use pictures Bitey-related.
Saga/Legacy-style icons were recolored by Kaizanu, as I'm hopeless with them. As per her request, don't gank the (custom-made) Kingbaron for non-MMM use.
