I like my Zoids motorized and not prebuilt, and I dig windups, gradeups, big stompy things, and pointed cats. I post on and read a good number of forums. I write and read fanfiction and am both rather picky and rather open about it—you write well, you can convince me of almost any pairing or alternate universe. Now if I could just de-stall my own projects...
Oddly enough for a member of my Zoider "generation", while it was the anime that led me into finding the models, it was the models that really caught my eye. I've been building them since mid-2002, and I still don't know how I missed the Technozoids line as a kid, given that mecha animals and construction toys were both right up my alley. My first Zoid was the KFM Zero, and my first kit Liger Zero X. It would have been Command Wolf AC, but the X beat out it and Blade Liger in a package race.
I miss being able to find Zoids in stores, since I liked the Hasbro line while it lasted, flaws or not. I also consider Zoids a toy/model kit hybrid and love them for that, so you'll find none of that "I'm not collecting KIDS' TOYS" denial here ;p.
About this site
While my domain went online sometime in early 2002, the Zoids section split off on its own sometime in the fall (October?). I didn't have the presence of mind to take screenshots of all the old layouts, alas, but here's some of them in action thanks to backups:
If things are broken for you, please tell me because I'll want to attempt fixes. If possible, include a screenshot/description of what broke along with your browser/version and OS.
Thanks goes to CSSplay and Position is Everything for being generally awesome. Totally PHP had the random quote thingummy I used on the front page, and my 80x15 buttons were made with some help from the Brilliant Button Maker. Hosting-wise I'm with NearlyFreeSpeech, though I used MxHub for many years beforehand. Thanks for all the hostage, guys!
